The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) just announced the recipients of the 2011 Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) award and has recognized Indmar Marine Engines for the 6th consecutive year. The program surveyed more than 30,000 consumers and over the last six years more than 670,000 consumers were surveyed reporting customer satisfaction with their Indmar Marine Engine.

The Marine Industry CSI Awards program honors participating manufacturers that actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Indmar has achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past six years, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new engine.

NMMA to Award Indmar 5th Consecutive Customer Satisfaction Index Award

For the fifth consecutive year, Indmar Marine Engine owners have consistently reported outstanding customer satisfaction with their Indmar engine. The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) will award Indmar for excellence in customer satisfaction as part of the NMMA’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) program at the 2010 International Boat Builders Exhibition and conference (IBEX), Tuesday, September 28.

The Marine Industry CSI Awards program honors participating manufacturers that actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Award recipients achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, the program surveyed more than 40,000 consumers.

MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Party Presented by Indmar Marine Engines

For the last 25 years, Indmar Marine Engines and the MasterCraft Boat Company have worked together to push the envelope, much like an athlete, introducing new innovations and technologies, enabling the sport of wakeboarding to progress and grow. Chuck Rowe, President of Indmar Marine Engines, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Award of Distinction by the American Water Ski Educational Foundation's Water Ski Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The Award of Distinction recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the sport and the water skiing community.

Rowe’s innovative industry leadership, landmark achievements in the development of water skiing coupled with his length of dedication and service to the industry, made him a clear choice for this prestigious award. From the first to bring fuel injected engines to the market to introducing an innovative green technology three years earlier than regulation that reduces exhaust emissions, just because it was the right thing to do.

Chuck Rowe has continuously touched the lives of water skiers and families across the U.S. year after year. In addition to Rowe’s dedication to water skiing and Pro Tour events, he has devoted a considerable amount of energy giving back to the recreational marine industry by serving as the Chairman of the NMMA and Chairman of the EMD. And to this date, Rowe still currently serves on the NMMA Board of Directors. From 1990-2001, Rowe served on the Water Sports Industry Association Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees for the American Water Ski Educational Foundation. GLYCOL MIXTURE CAN CAUSE ENGINE OVERHEATING

Antifreeze mixtures that contain more than 50% glycol can cause overheating problems with fresh water cooled Indmar engines. A consumer that is experiencing high engine operating temperatures or overheating at higher speeds and loads, may have too much glycol in the mix. Other issues could also be the problem; water pump impeller, pinched hose, intake water obstruction, etc.
Indmar diagnostic testing has shown that mixtures with more than 50% glycol raised coolant temperatures. As the mixture of glycol to water was increased, the risk of over-heating the engine was even greater. Indmar uses Sierra propylene glycol for health and environmental reasons. Propylene glycol is as good, if not better than ethylene glycol. Some may argue the difference; however, there is no comparison when it comes to which is more environmentally safe. For example, many animals like the sweet taste of ethylene glycol. As little as a teaspoonful can be fatal to a cat and four teaspoons can be life threatening to a dog. Indmar Honored for Steadfast Support of Watersports

Indmar, manufacturer of marine engines, was recently honored by the Legends Division for their steadfast support of the sport. The Legends Division is an elite group of professional water-skier’s that boast over 250 professional wins, 22 World Records and 12 World Championships featuring Andy Mapple, Bob LaPoint, Kris LaPoint and Lucky Lowe. The Legends Division was organized to help bring back recognition to the sport and to raise money for junior development.

“Back in the hay day of ESPN with 16-22 events each year around the world, Indmar was a huge supporter of the Pro Waterski Tour…behind the scenes,” explained 6 Time World Champion, Andy Mapple. “Chuck Rowe put a lot into growing the sport and it seemed fitting that Indmar be a part of the Legends Division as we try to build recognition of the sport again. The watersports industry owes a debt of gratitude to Indmar and the boat manufacturers, as well as the fans and friends who’ve followed and supported watersports all of these years.”

Industry support has provided members of the Legends the opportunity to make a career in the sport they love. Now with the Legends Division, participants can use their experiences and talent to bring hype to local events while raising money for junior development in the regions in which they compete. When the Legends division is invited to a tournament, in addition to the competition between some of the greatest names in the sport; they are able to raise money for junior development through memorabilia, auctions, coaching onsite clinics, sponsorships and awareness.

The inaugural Legends Division was recently held at the Diablo Shores Pro Am, one of the largest pro events in the world today. “It was an absolute honor to have the legends debut at the tournament and to see the response from the crowd,” explained Greg and Debbie Badal, Tournament Directors for Diablo Shores. The Legends were very successful in attracting “Baby Boomers” that used to ski and watch the sport on ESPN and other TV Networks worldwide. Many had recognized the names competing in their home town so they came on out to see arguably some of the most recognizable names ever in the sport of waterskiing. These "Baby Boomers" are now the ones with careers and young families, so it was great to see them back and excited about the sport.
